Black Witch

A black witch that far north is a bit unusual but not extremely odd. This
is the time of year when you are most likely to find them straying far to
the north of their normal range. For foodplants try some of your local
legumes (locust, Acacia, pea etc.) or any other legumes you can get your
hands on at your latitude. The females will often lay in a paper bag
without any plant to lay on. The eggs are really small so look carefully
for them. You will need to feed her as well or she may die before laying.
Best of luck.

Chris

PS The pink spotted hawkmoth is also a nice catch at your latitude but not
terribly unusual. Fall is when they are normally taken further north.
