This is a bit old now, but one standard source for such information is:
 
Tietz, Harrison Morton. 1972.  _An Index to the Decribed Life Histories,
Early Stages and Hosts of the Macrolepidoptera of the Continental United
States and Canada_. This is a two-volume work, 1045 pages. It can be
ordered from BioQuip, if you can't find it in a library.
