It's exciting to hear about Large Orange Sulfur (Phoebis agarithe) in NW Georgia.
There are single records attributed to New Jersey, Maine and Wisconsin. We'll be
looking for it tomorrow. Orange-barred Sulfur (Phoebis philea) had old New Jersey
and NYC records and apparently a spate (or is it a rash) of northern records in the
1930's, soon after it arrived in the U.S. Considering the larger number of
observers alert to rare species (particularly big showy species), its likely that
it must have been much more numerous in the 1930's to have been recorded at all.
