Last night (April 12) three of us went out to the local bog and set up the
MV light and sheet in the snow in the leafless woods west of Edmonton -
feeling foolish but hopeful. Lo and behold there were moths on the wing:
Lithophane fagina
L. innominata
L. tepida
Xylena curvimacula
X. thoracica (?)
Homoglaea hircina
Orthosia hibisci
Litholomia napaea
and at least 4 species of micros !!
And in the backyard trap when I got home
L. innominata
Eupsilia tristigmata
Orthosia hibisci
Av. temp 4.5 C.
Spring has sprung !!!!!!!
