Details are a bit sketchy but looks like a third Banded Orange Heliconian
was recently seen on one of the few remaining woodlots on South Padre
Island, Cameron Co., TX. The Banded Orange seems to be single handedly
highlighting the extreme importance of each and every small piece of
remaining habitat the the Lower Rio Grande Valley. Imagine what the
proposed NABA Butterfly Park will attract!

Chris Durden just reported having probably the best spring in 30 years in
Austin. I believe him. Mike Quinn

Hi, M and C,
    We spent four days on Padre during the norther and the good fallout,
but the high point was a Banded Orange on Campeche St. in the woodlot;
it was there at least two days - Bob Simpson and his family also got to
see it....Wow! It is now my favorite.
