I have tested PDB (paradichlorobenzene) against dermestid larvae
in a closed volume--and it _does_ kill the larvae. It takes a few days
to kill them, but they seem to lose their appetite rather quickly. (I
also got flamed by someone for cruelty to dermestids--but dermestids have
no rights that I care to grant them in my collection.) I have heard that
adult dermestids may not respond to PDB--but killing the larvae takes
care of the problem.
