The Monarch Watch run by Prof. Orley Taylor at the University of Kansas,
Lawrence, has permits to ship monarchs around much of the eastern
2/3rd's of the nation--and ships thousands of caterpillars annually many
hundreds of miles away from Lawrence--even sometimes obtains the
breeding stock from Cornell University in New York. Does that make them
an unreputable monarch supplier?
Several dozen other monarch butterfly farmers have USDA granted permits
to ship monarchs to many different states many hundreds of miles apart.
Few monarch breeders sell within the "area they live in".
