A database covering Cornwall, UK containing over one million records of 20
000+ spp. It was developed by Dr Colin French (current BSBI recorder for
VC1) for the CBRU (now defunct) which was part of the ICS.
Just in case :<) BSBI - Botantical Society of the British Isles
VC1 - Vice county one ie west Cornwall
CBRU - Cornish Biological Records Centre which sadly no longer exists
ICS - Institute of Cornish Studies, part of the University of Exeter, with
additional funding from Cornwall County Council, which conducts research on
Cornish history, its people, etc. Hence my curiosity re the chequered
skipper speciman in Leeds museum.
I am lucky enough to have a copy as I'm the Cornish recorder for Butterfly
Conservation and am always on the lookout for Cornish records.
