pipevine swallowtails

In early July I found some pipevine swallowtail eggs on my plant and
raised the larvae. About half of the butterflies emerged from the
pupae. This was about 10 days ago. The rest of the chrysalids look
healthy. Does anyone know whether it is normal for some to remain in
diapause over the winter while others emerged?

I now have LOTS of pipevine eggs on my one pipevine plant. I am looking
for a "pipevine patch" in northeast Ohio. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
