Well, I don't know about mainland Europe but in the UK it is descibed
as "Widespread & often abundant throughout the British Isles"
(Skinner, 1998). It is also known to migrate strongly, often in large
numbers so I wouldn't be surprised if it were found well into
Scandinavia and North Russia.
