V. atalanta, is starting to become a bit more common on South Coast of
England now, I often wonder if we tend to notice them more because the
buddelia starts flowering and causes them to congregate more than usual? P.
c-album is the most frequently seen Nymphalid in my garden and I. io larva
on the nettles on the edge of the woods at the end of the garden are
pupating just now and A urticae are starting to become more common again.
Is this going to be a bad year for cardui? I've only seen a worn straggler
or two during June.
Nigel
