Common names

To anne and others---but why people names get capitalized is beyond me.  The animal or plant is NOT the person.  

I might not capitalize rose (or indeed sparrow), but I would certainly capitalize Dog Rose just as I would capitalize Scotch Rose. Similarly I would capitalize Field Sparrow to distinguish it from all the other sparrows one is likely to find in a field.
