John Acorn has it wrong. The list I posted is the species I encountered
in Portugal on my holiday. To catch those species in Cornwall would make
me very popular with the tabloid press.

It was remiss of me not to include full scientific names but I posted my
reasons earlier.

What John says about names is essentially correct, but I would point out
that, between when as a mere 7 year old I started out in the field of
lepidoptera and today, some 32 years later, all but 5 of the British
Butterflies have NEW/DIFFERENT SCIENTIFIC NAMES! even family names have
changed/disappeared.
