Hello,
Does anyone out there know roughly what percentage of Monarch eggs hatch
and survive to adulthood?

Also, I'm raising some monarchs this year and I've noticed
some...oddities in some larvae.  Some have missing or shorter filaments,
and others have irregular patterns in their black/white/yellow
stripping.  The bands may be incomplete on one body segment, or some
bands may be larger than others.  Futhermore, some of even pupating
prematurely and I've found that most of these larvae can't properly
latch on to their silk pads either.  Almost all of them fall to the
bottom of the container unless I happen to be their to reattach them
manually.  Does anyone have any idea as to what might be causing this
and if this is naturaly at all?
