I can recommend following article, written by Thomas E. Dimock:
Three natural hybrids of Vanessa atalanta rubria x Cynthia annabella.
Published in Journal of the Lepidopterists´ Society, Vol. 27, Number 4.
The informative article is based on the discovery of three hybrid larvae
found in nature on Urtica in Thousand Oaks, California, 1972.
