White small tortoiseshell.

Some walking friends of mine reported that while walking in Wye, Kent UK 
on Sunday 2nd May they spotted a white small tortoiseshell.  It seems that 
it wasn't a true albino (which I understand is very rare) because it did 
have the blue spots on the wing borders.  I have read that a number of 
aberrations occur and that one such has the normal reddish-orange replaced 
by white.  I assume that this is what they saw but they've been observing 
butterflies for many years now and assure me that this is the first time 
they've come across this aberration so we wondered how common or uncommon 
it is.
