I have also encountered H. phyleus here in Massachusetts. In fact on Sept, 4 I had captured a Brazilian Skipper (Calpodes ethlius), very rare this far north. Many southern species have been common this year, Buckeyes, Variegated Fritillary have been abundant. also seen a couple (but beat up) Cloudless Sulphurs (P. sennae) this year.
