POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Summer Field Assistants (3) needed from May 25- Aug 15 to census 
butterflies and birds in the Gallatin NF - Montana and Grand Teton NP - 
Wyoming.  Duties will include conducting butterfly surveys and bird point 
counts.  Do not apply unless you either (1) have knowledge of butterfly 
taxonomy and identification or  (2) know western birds by sight and sound 
and/or have point count experience.  Position requires hiking 5-10 
miles/day, catching (running after) butterflies, moving between study areas 
every 2-3 weeks, and group living.  Must enjoy living in primitive 
conditions and work enthusiastically as part of a team.  Housing, on-site 
transportation, and salary of $8.00/hour will be provided. For more
