Hello.  It could also be a checkerspot (Occidryas or Euphydryas sp).  Neil
Jones is the expert on these.  Contact him at <Neil at nwjones.demon.co.uk>.  He
knows both the checkerspits and fritillaries well, especially the
checkerspots.
