Oklahoma bug

Last month in OKC I picked up a few bugs outside my motel and just got
around to looking at them. Most were not surprising, but one is a dead
ringer for the picture and description of Melipotis januaris in Charlie's
book, which looks as if it is supposed to occur only in Central Florida.
Even the size is right: 35mm. CVC lists the food plant as unknown, so no
clue is had in that direction. Does anyone know if  M. januaris ever goes to
Oklahoma City - except on the front of a truck?
