your academic background as well."

I second this, partly because I get an impression that 'Paul' (I don't
actually know him, so is it okay to use his first name???) spends a lot of
his personal time, and perhaps personal income as well, studying
butterflies. I usually spend a finite fraction of my personal income on
raising silk moths, as well as on educational gifts to young children
(plastic bug houses, magnifying glasses, etc.) to promote their interests
in entomology. Does Paul do something like that? He seems well informed
about Monarchs, at least, and such background usually does not come without
some investment of both time and income. His time alone is probably worth
a finite amount, as it is for anyone who has employment. (My Dad, the
economist, taught me that.)

So . . . if it's not too personal, Paul, are you willing to tell us a bit
about who you are?

P.S. For those who wrote recently, thanks for your kind wishes on my
autoimmune disease. It's a 'reactive arthritis,' which just means immune
attack on connective tissue. Also thanks to Dave Webster for his
clarification:

"Just to keep the record
straight, your 'parting shot' should be 'Parthian shot'; a very common mistake."

I looked it up and he is absolutely correct! Nice that such information
came from someone named "Webster"--!

More fun stuff to teach my kids!
