Funny--I had gotten the impression that many lepidopterists lived to a
ripe old age, like Cyril F. dos Passos, who died in his 90s. However,
thinking back over my own experiences in the field: a near-miss from
being drowned in the Anadyr' River in 1983, a number of bush plane and
helicopter flights (some of which involved 'interesting' landings or
takeoffs), and some close encounters of the large furry kind--I wonder
if death by accident is more of a hazard than death by disease...

	On the other hand, the arctic is relatively disease-free. Maybe
it's you tropical types who die young?
