Chris, do you know the location of the greenhouse(s) where H. charitonius
lived that long? Temperature is an issue-- N. antiopa overwinters as an adult
in temperate zones-- either freeze-resistant or freeze-tolerant-- but its
resting metabolism during late spring and early fall may be relatively high (I
have only a few measurements from a suspect sample where most pupae died). If
Zebra Longwings live that long under more or less neotropical temperatures, I
am very interested!
