The leps-l list of subscribers can be downloaded as follows. Address the
email to LISTPROC at LISTS.YALE.EDU . No subject is needed. Send the simple
message - REV LEPS-L . Momentarily you will be sent an email with the 345
non-concealed names and addresses on this list.
Note I said non-concealed. The only way I can take this is that there is
an unknown number of "concealed" individuals or groups privy to this forum.
Now these are not private messages - so the fact that someone unknown to
"us" is checking them out is no matter to me nor the rest of un, I'm sure.
But it does bother me that anyone would want or need to be totally
concealed. A person can subscribe and give a bogus name or title as
fatguy at waitwatchers.gym. and give a name of skinny. Or naba at naba.org with
the name of naba (which is the actual way this subscriber is listed). I
have no problem with that. But why does anyone need to be totally stealthy
in this. This is not a Drug Lord's chat room for gracious sake. This may be
normal in other places in the world, but here in the US we don't like
people who sneak around or snoops.
If President Bush or Pamela Anderson wanted to subscribe to leps-l and for
the obvious reason didn't want the rest of us to "know" just who they were,
that would be facilitated easily by code names. They would be "concealed".
To me the concealed on Leps-l are nothing less than spies who never post -
they just - well, just spy - on YOU. This just seems so un-American to me.
