For anyone interested in a chronology of the happenings in Michoacan,
Monarch Watch - at http://www.MonarchWatch.org - is maintaining reports on
their website under *Overwintering Monarchs Killed*.

For the sake of accuracy, the reported winds were 100 kilometers per hour.
This translates roughly to about 60+ miles per hour, and not quite at
hurricane force.

There are references to "They" in previous Leps-l posts. The reports seem
to have been originated by the campesinos (ejiditarios)who live in the area
and were made public by the Mexican environmental group. Perhaps this whole
story is not all in yet. I do hope they were wrong on the alleged pesticide
poaching.
