Euphydryas phaeton oviposites on Turtlehead in June. The larvae diapuase and the following spring emerge. Only they feed on Plantain. In Portage County, Ohio, I have found E. phaeton on two species of Plantain. I also found them on Plantain in Montgomery County, Virginia.

I believe this has been reported in literature.
