I have been using pheromone traps for over 15 years and they are very easy to
use. The edge of a wooded area is excellent. I always tend to hide them with
the outside limbs of trees and shrub. I usually hang them about 5 to 6 feet
high. Dappled sun light is also good. I never had success in a deep forest.
Also, if you know the larval host, hang your traps on, in or near the host.
You can raise and lower the height, change locations and in or out of the
sun. Try whatever you can think of. When you find something that works, leave
some traps, and continue to experiment with other traps. It is a new field
and open to anything new.
