Ron wrote that the southeastern U.S. isn't as homogenous as some people
think. IN collect ecology I learned about the intricate physiognomy of
the western states with mountain ranges and canyons isolating
populations and turning them into species.
This was presented in marked contrast to the homogeneous Eastern
Deciduous Forest and the Prairies.
After working for several years at the Savannah River site
(unfortunately not on leps), I can second Ron's email about the mosaidc
of habitats that occur in that vicinity.
