Your friend may want to check out http://www.Sachalodge.com/ which 
is located on the shore of Ecuador's Napo River. The web site will 
explain it quite nicely and it would also be very easy for your 
friend to schedule a side trip to the Galapagos. Sacha does have a 
working butterfly farm so there will be opportunities to get some
great pictures of newly emerged leps. They have many other activities
as well. 

And Ron this would be another example of a sustainable resource.
