Actually, it's easy to fix, too. Just get the file from Microsoft and
put it back.
Some rules of thumb, so you won't fall so easily for this sort of hoax:
When any message says "send this to all your friends and everyone you
know" it is a hoax.
When it cites web pages and they are in fact either not there, or
generic pages, it's a hoax.
Hoaxes live forever on the Internet, and usually have just enough truth
to keep them flying. The sad thing about how women were treated in
Afghanistan? Well, it was true, of course, but the addresses you were
supposed to write to? They were false.
I can't help wishing that we could find useful work for the people who dream up these scams.
There's a future for them in butterfly gardening, perhaps.
