Yes, Stan, I've noticed this airfoil phenomenon, too. Of course,
accelerating makes it harder to enjoy watching them (and you still whack a
good number anyways). Another thing to consider is what happens to the bug
after it sails over your windshield. If you watch the rear view mirror,
you'll notice a good number of these butts wind up flying upside down and
sideways and ultimately end up smacking into oncoming traffic. Not a good
scenario if you're only protection is a small layer of exoskeleton.
