Painted Ladies on the move in central California

Today there was a noticable Painted Lady migration in Placerville, Calif.
in the Sierra Nevada foothills about 40 miles east of Sacramento, Calif.
As in past years, they were headed NW or NNW and were in moderately
faded condition.  The Painted Ladies passed by my field of vision.
at the rate of one every minute or two.
