Hello all,

The McGuire Center for Lepidoptera Research is gearing up for its
February 2004 opening. Accordingly, they've sent out a request for
applications for several positions that will be available soon. My
understanding is that these proposals need to go through an evaluation
process that is being coordinated by reviewer Zane Greathouse. I'm not
familiar with this process of managing applications, so apologies if
I've misinterpreted the details here.

What I know for certain is that the McGuire Center staff are tremendous
and the facility plans took my breath away. The museum collections,
activities and exhibit will be great resources for the butterfly
conservation community. Getting in on the ground floor would be a great
opportunity for anyone committed to butterfly biology, research and/or
education.

Read on for Zane's request - if you have any questions about this
process, please direct them to him.

I am responding to the RFP for the McGuire Center of Lepidoptera
Research (Florida Museum of Natural History) at the University of
Florida in Gainesville, Florida. I am looking for resumes for the
following positions: Lepidopterist, Exhibit Manager, Entomologist,
Horticulturist, Gardener, Operations Staff, Gift Shop Manager, Gift Shop
Designer/Stylist, Gift Shop Buyer, and Web Site Designer/Webmaster. Some
positions will be filled in the next two months, others are to be filled
when the facility opens (slated for Feb. 2004). Six copies of each
resume will be required, four of which are to be included with the
proposal that I will be submitting on Aug. 28, 2003. Resumes should be
in my hands on or before August 22, 2003. The sooner the better. Please
feel free to forward this notice to any interested parties. Inquiries
should be addressed to me, Zane Greathouse, at Bflyfarmer at aol.com.
Resumes should be sent to me at the address that follows.

Take care,
