John-- we've had good luck using little cups of 10% sucrose (fruit juice
maybe better) with fake "petals" the color of flowers they nectar at
naturally-- done this with both Manduca sexta and Vanessa cardui
colonies--honeysuckle in the case of H. thisbe, as I remember. If your
friend's moth doesn't seem to be feeding, try it!
