Neil, the propaganda door swings open both ways. Below is an
example of the global warming petition drive of a radical
environmental group  (The Environmental Defense Fund):

GLOBAL WARMING -- THE REAL DEAL:
The latest scientific reports indicate that global warming is a real
problem made worse by human activity. And the planet is already
starting to show symptoms of trouble:

- Scientists expect the planet's climate to warm as much as 10 degrees
by the end of the century.

- The journal Nature reports that rising temperatures are now impacting
birds, plants, insects and other wildlife, and could push some species
to extinction.

 - Experts predict that because of global warming and El Niño, 2003
could be the warmest year on record.

 - Big public health impacts will result, as diseases and disease carriers
like mosquitoes, spread more easily.
