This is a very important observation because in California,
Nevada as well as in eastern Washington, the northward 
directional flight of the Painted Ladies came to an end 
around June 20-25 (summer solstice) after which
adults began to be seen moving in various directions or
to the W or SW. 

The northward flight of Monarchs also appears to weaken
by mid-June and  end by June 20-25.
