Subject: Somber Carpet (Disclisioprocta stellata)

Hello Lepidophiles,

There appears to be a small "invasion" of Disclisioprocta stellata
(Somber Carpet) here on Long Island. Steve Walter found one at Floyd
Bennett Field in Brooklyn on Oct 19 (see
http://www.hmana.org/mulberry/mow/mow.htm) and I found two this past
Saturday, Nov 5: one in Westhampton and one in Sag Harbor. These are the
first I have ever seen on Long Island in 4 years of fairly intensive
moth watching. Is anyone else in the northeast seeing any interesting
late season southern strays?
