According to the website of the Dorset Branch of Butterfly Conservation there
was a sighting of a Monarch butterfly at Studland in Dorset on 1st October.

We often get reports of sightings at this time of the year.

Butterfly Conservation is the British organisation dedicated to saving
butterflies moths and their habitats. It is probably the largest insect
society in the world with around 12,000 members.
It offers advice to landowners and managers, carries out scientific research
and owns or manages a number of nature reserves in England, Wales and
Northern Ireland.
