Desert Lepidoptera List

There appears to be a need for an alternative discussion group, wider in
scope, that covers the southwestern U.S. and parts of Mexico. I have
created one called Desert Lepidoptera of North America,
DesertLeps at Yahoogroups.com.

As stated on the web:
"This group is dedicated to the discussion of lepidoptera, both
butterflies and moths, in the desert states of California, Arizona,
Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, and Texas. Included also is Baja California
and the Mexican deserts peripatric to the U.S. border. Topics of
discussion can include rearing, taxonomy, systematics, biogeography,
phylogeny, evolution, curatorial practices, conservation, life
histories, and any other biological aspects of the lepidoptera occurring
in these political and geographical regions. "

I am not out to compete with other lists. This list is just an
alternative. If it falls on its face I certainly won't take it
personally. I realize there are already a lot of groups, maybe too many.

To join send a message to DesertLeps-subscribe at yahoogroups.com
I have the group set up so that I have to approve subscriptions as well
as monitoring the first message. Both of these are to eliminate spam. I
do not intend to monitor a member's message beyond the first one. I do
not believe in monitoring discussions and do not intend to do so.

If you join it may take some time to be approved because it depends on
when I can get to it. I do not know what I am getting myself into, but I
will fast find out.
Stan
