Roger, the European lep conservation organizations aren't
pushing for population control, smaller homes and vehicles, 
engines, etc. either to help mitigate ongoing habitat loss.

Look at what the worlds largest butterfly conservation
advises the public to do to mitigate the loss of butterfly
abundance and diversity:

1) Join the organization (pay membership dues)
2) Make a donation (in addition to paying membership dues)
3) Leave a legacy (a financial gift to the organization in your will)
4) Volunteer (in addition to paying membership dues)
5) Plant a butterfly garden (and it's OK to own a huge home)
6) Shop (puchase books online at the organizations website)
7) Shop (at the Marks&Spencer clothing website)
