It’s a water-spotted cabbage butterfly… . Probably happened close to emergence, before the scales were fully hydrophobic.

Might I suggest a mutant Anthocharis? Looks to me like there remains the shadow of the basic marbling pattern. Or it's a stray from somewhere further south......

 Seen July 15, 2023, on a NABA count event in Rappahannock County, Virginia.



 It would be very late for a Falcate Orangetip, and Checkered Whites are

rare here, and it doesn't really look like either one. Someone suggested

a Cabbage White with muddy wings. I tried to post this several times the

week after the sighting and it did not work.
