Mendele Personal Notices & Announcements
Feb. 1, 2010
To minimize wear and tear on the untershames, three requests:
1. Send time-sensitive notices well in advance.
2. Send material as plain text: no HTML, other coding, or attachments;and
write MENDELE PERSONALS in the subject line.
3. Correspond directly with the person who or organization which has
posted the notice, *not* with your ever-beleaguered untershames.

Subject: help with poor penmanship
I am seeking help with two Yiddish handwritten letters which are difficult
to read because of their poor penmanship. Both letters are addressed to
the same person. One is dated October 11, 1928 and originates from Evarts,
Kentucky and the other letter originating from Onorkov (Poland?) is dated
September 23, 1966. I have scanned the two letters and can provide them in
pdf format. It would be helpful if they can be transcribed into
typewritten form since I am fairly fluent in Yiddish and do not need for
the letters to be translated.
With warm regards,
Sasha Englard <englard at aecom.yu.edu>
