Mendele Personal Notices & Announcements
May 3, 2012

To minimize wear and tear on the untershames, three requests:

1. Send time-sensitive notices well in advance.
2. Send material as plain text: no HTML, other coding, or attachments;and
write MENDELE PERSONALS in the subject line.
3. Correspond directly with the person who or organization which has
posted the notice,
*not* with your ever-beleaguered untershames.

Subject: Chava Rosenfarb and Simkha Bunim Shayevitch

The Montreal klezmer band Megilla has posted a video of a song by Chava
Rosenfarb. The song is in Yiddish with English subtitles.

I would also like Mendelyaner to know that I've added a page about the
Lodz ghetto poet Simkha-Bunim Shayevitch to the Chava Rosenfarb website.
Shayevitch's was the author of the long poem "Lekh Lekho,"
which was found on a trash heap after the destruction of the Lodz ghetto.
He was Rosenfarb's mentor in the ghetto. I believe that
this page contains one of the very few known photographs of Shayevitch.

The page can be found at:
