Management:_*

Dear colleagues,

I am writing to you to inform you and your organization about a funding
opportunity for students interested in pursuing a master’s degree in the
field of public policy and management.

The Heinz School offers a variety of competitive scholarships and
fellowships to incoming students in our Master of Science in Public
Policy and Management (MSPPM <http://www.heinz.cmu.edu/msppm/>) program.
Two of our most prestigious awards are the Heinz Fellowship and the
Tribal Affairs Fellowship. Four Heinz Fellowships are awarded annually
to students committed to working in careers focused on serving the
public interest. Multiple Tribal Affairs Fellowships are awarded each
year to students that are committed to promoting the advancement of the
American Indian population and tribal affairs. Both Fellowships include
full tuition scholarships and a $6,000 Research Assistantship for each
academic year. The deadline to apply to the H. John Heinz III School of
Public Policy and Management is February 1, 2006. To learn more, please
visit the financial aid section <http://www.heinz.cmu.edu/finaid/msppm/>
of our website.

The Heinz School has a wonderful reputation and our graduates are sought
after by employers around the country and around the world. While it is
nice to have an excellent reputation, you need to ask yourself what else
am I getting from this program and how will it help me with my short-
and long-term career goals?

The MSPPM program is designed for students that have a passion for
applying knowledge and skills in service of the public interest. We
consistently hear from employers that our students have a unique
combination of strengths that include policy analysis, communication,
decision-making, and management. Our graduates use these skills to
address the important challenges facing society. It is our unique
approach - emphasizing policy, management and information technology-
that distinguishes our graduates.

Not surprisingly, with this marketable skill set, our students tend to
be in demand with employers across the public, private and
not-for-profit sectors. Our graduates often work at the intersection of
these sectors, where they are in a position to advance the public good
and quickly attain positions of responsibility.

We encourage you to learn more about us to determine whether we are a
good match for you and your interests. To this end, we would be pleased
to have you visit our website http://www.heinz.cmu.edu
<http://www.heinz.cmu.edu/>/. If you would like to speak with current
students, alumni, faculty, and administration, please email your request
to hnzadmit at andrew.cmu.edu <mailto:hnzadmit at andrew.cmu.edu>.
