Feb 28 deadline for the National Institute of Health Undergraduate Scholarship
Program for students from disadvantaged backgrounds who are committed to
careers in biomedical, behavioral, and social science health-related research.
Up to $20,000 per academic year in tuition, educational expenses, and
reasonable living expenses; renewable up to 4 years. Must be enrolled/accepted
as a full-time student for the 2006-2007 academic year at an accredited, 4-year
undergraduate institution, disadvantaged background (certified by Financial Aid
Office as having ?exceptional financial need,? minimum 3.5 GPA or within the

Feb 28 deadline for Indian Health Service Scholarships (2006-2007) for American
Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN), full or part-time students, who intend to serve
Indian people upon completing their degree program:
Health Professions Pregraduate Scholarship*: financial support for
federal/state recognized AI/AN to enroll in courses leading to a bachelor
degree in specific preprofessional areas (i.e. premedicine, predentistry,
prepodiatry) to prepare for admission to an accredited (medical, dental)
school.
Health Professions Preparatory Scholarship*: financial support for
federal/state recognized AI/AN to enroll in courses to prepare for admission
into health professions schools (i.e. nursing, pharmacy, etc**) in the U.S.;
courses may be compensatory (required to improve science, math) or
preprofessional (to qualify for admission into health professions program.)
Health Professions Scholarship*: financial support for federally recognized
and enrolled AI/AN students enrolled in health professions and allied health
professions programs*** in the U.S. Preference given to Graduate students,
Jr/Sr undergraduates. Service obligations and pay-back requirements upon
completion of degree.
