"The Schaghticoke Tribal Nation said Wednesday that it is considering
an appeal of U.S. District Court Judge Peter Dorsey's decision to
effectively deny the Connecticut tribe federal recognition. 'We
obviously strongly disagree and have very serious concerns with the
conclusions reached by the court. We continue to believe that we are
eligible for federal recognition, that we should be recognized, and
that the recognition we had and deserved was unlawfully taken from us
through improper political influence,' Schaghticoke Chief Richard
Velky said in a statement released Wednesday…"
