Dear Friends:

I would like to invite you to UMass Boston's Native American Student Society (NASS) Powwow, to be held on the UMass Boston Campus Center circle lawn, Sat. 9/27 and Sun. 9/28. On the program are several drum groups and other performers, as well as several guest speakers from local Native organizations. As you might imagine, NASS students have had to work very hard to get even the minimal funding needed to organize the powwow, but we are going forward since we believe this is an opportant opportunity for us to continue to strengthen ties with Native nations and communities in the area, and to continue our efforts to make UMass Boston a place where indigenous issues are heard and addressed.

We hope you may be able to attend, and we would be honored to have any Native artists/musicians, activists, or educators--who may be able to donate their time--contact us if they may be interested in performing or speaking on one of the scheduled powwow days. (please contact either myself or Jonathan Ramones, NASS president; jramones86 at yahoo.com).

Many thanks for your support,

Amy Den Ouden
