12th Annual Native American Festival

Native American Festival in Ridgefield, Conn., to feature traditional music,
food, dance and art.
The 12th Annual Native American Festival will be at Ridgefield's Ballard
Park the weekend of September
13 & 14, from 10am until 6pm, rain or shine. This educational, cultural,
family event will feature
entertainment by Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter Joanne Shenandoah
and performances
featuring Iroquois & pow wow style dancing, among other attractions. Check
out the children's activities in
the teepee village, where a teepee-raising demonstration will be held once
each day. Try some traditional
Native American foods like corn soup, fry bread, buffalo burgers, venison
and chili. Vendors will offer a
variety of items, including paintings; traditional and contemporary silver
jewelry; deerskin clothing; and
stone, bone and clay sculptures. Artists will give demonstrations throughout
the day, and fine art will be on
exhibit and available for purchase. Admission: $10.00 adults, $5.00 seniors
& children. Directions: From
Danbury, take Route 7 South to Route 35 South. Follow Route 35 South to Main
Street, Ridgefield. From
Route 95, take Route 7 North to Route 35 South. Follow Route 35 South to
Main Street, Ridgefield.
