Proposals are invited for papers and panels addressing the study of American Indians in the Southeast cultural area.  Topics may include academic or creative works on: archaeology, education, history, socio-cultural issues, religion, literature, oral traditions, art, identity, sovereignty, health and other matters. Creative works may include any written, visual, musical, video, digital or other creative production that connects to Southeast Indian peoples' experiences, histories or concerns. Proposals are welcome from all persons working in the field. Only complete proposals will receive full consideration.  Individuals may submit only one proposal. Proposals are to be submitted electronically or by mail by January 05, 2009. Send to alesia.cummings at uncp.edu or Alesia Cummings at American Indian Studies, PO Box 1510 Pembroke, NC 28372.  Proposals will not be accepted after this date.
