Hello Colleagues,

This is a reminder about the quickly approaching December 1 proposal
deadline for the 2010 Native American & Indigenous Studies Association
(NAISA) Annual Meeting to be hosted by the American Indian Studies program
at the University of Arizona in Tucson May 20-22. You can view all of the
information about the requirements for submissions and important dates and
deadlines on the NAISA 2010 meeting website at
http://naisa.ais.arizona.edu/. If youve already submitted, many thanks!

The abstract collector is up and running and we are currently accepting
submissions for individual papers, panel presentations, and roundtables.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS IS DEC 1, 2009. The NAISA Council will meet soon
after the deadline to set the program, so please note that this deadline
has little flexibility built in. You will need to sign up for an account
to use the abstract collector (this is different than your naisa.org user
account if you have one), so getting the submission process started soon
is an excellent idea.

The NAISA Council is also seeking volunteers who are willing to serve as
Chair and/or Commentator/Discussant for sessions that the Council forms
out of individual paper submissions. You may volunteer even if you are
also submitting another proposalchairs selected from the list of
volunteers can appear on the program more than once. If you are planning
to attend and willing to serve, please send an email to
naisa2010 at gmail.com, indicating your willingness to volunteer, if you
prefer the Chair or Discussant role or both, and list your areas of
specialty.

Some members are using the NAISA website (naisa.org) to network regarding
proposal ideas, so visit there if you are wondering what others are
working on or if you need to recruit panel participants or ask others how
they are doing in the submission process.

We look forward to your submissions and to seeing you in Tucson in May!
